Ultrasound of lymph nodes Warsaw
Ultrasound examinations lymph nodes
Lymph node ult rasound is a safe and painless examination, performed in the supine position. It requires no special preparation on the part of the patient and is performed in the supine position. The patient can perform it at any time of the day. The examination lasts several minutes and is always preceded by a brief history. During the examination, the image from the transducer is visible on the monitor of the ultrasound machine. It is considered more sensitive than clinical palpation in identifying about 300 lymph nodes of the head and neck region, as well as superficial lymph nodes of the armpits and groin. After the examination, the patient receives the result of the examination in the form of ultrasound images with a description.
What does an ultrasound of the lymph nodes enable?
Ultrasound evaluation is subjected to many morphological features of the lymph node-shape, size, blood supply, tissue structure-in terms of their number, location, spatial arrangement, relationship to surrounding tissues and organs of the lesion. The diagnostic experience and clinical knowledge of the examiner, as well as a thorough, in-depth evaluation of each lymph node that is visualized, performing a preliminary tactile assessment and taking a history of the disease are prerequisites for a proper assessment of the condition of lymph nodes.
