Ultrasound examinations Warsaw ( Mokotow , Ursynow, Sluzew)

The Krajmed Medical Center has an ultrasound outpatient clinic run by Dr. Dorota Kolay – a 2nd degree nuclear medicine specialist with more than 30 years of experience in the daily work of a clinical ultrasound diagnostician at the Departments of Imaging Diagnostics of the Medical Academy and the Regional Hospital. including 22 years of experience as a research assistant at the Center for Oncology – Institute in Warsaw.

Modern equipment

Ultrasound examinations are performed with a very high-end ultrasound scanner equipped with modern features that allow clinical evaluation at a high level of confidence. We use a high-resolution probe (linear 12 MHz) to evaluate lesions 1-3 mm in size. The goal of our ultrasound laboratory is to detect the smallest possible lesions that require rapid further diagnosis or initiation of treatment.

What sets us apart ?

Our Ultrasound Laboratory is distinguished by the fact that when ultrasounding a region of the body, all health problems and the patient’s general condition are widely taken into account. It is a CLINICAL APPROACH to ultrasound diagnosis, i.e. an independent, skillful interpretation of the ultrasound image by the ultrasound doctor, with reference to all the information obtained from the Patient, supported by the experience of the examiner, clinical knowledge, ability to view the organs, perceive and draw conclusions. Before the ultrasound examination, a detailed medical history is collected. Provision of existing medical records – imaging and laboratory results – is welcome. The ultrasound examination is performed meticulously, in a calm atmosphere, with an attempt at clinical interpretation of the image, and with recommendations for further management. The result is issued immediately.

We perform ultrasound examinations in patients over 16 years of age

Ultrasound (USG) examinations are a common diagnostic method that uses high-frequency sound waves to visualize the internal structures of the body. They are painless and non-invasive, making them widely accepted by patients. In Poland, ultrasound examinations are performed on patients over the age of 16, covering various areas of the body, such as the internal organs, thyroid, urinary system, gastrointestinal tract or genital organs. These examinations can be performed both for diagnostic purposes and to monitor the progress of treatment. Thanks to their non-invasiveness and safety, ultrasound examinations are an important tool in the diagnosis of many conditions and are used in both pediatrics and adult patients. If an ultrasound examination is necessary, patients should consult their doctor, who will give them appropriate instructions on how to prepare for the test.

Preparation for the ultrasound examination

Before undergoing an ultrasound, patients should be properly prepared. Depending on the area of the body to be examined, they may need to limit their food intake, drink fluids before the test, or have other special instructions.

Ultrasound Process

The ultrasound process itself is painless and non-invasive. The patient lies on a recliner, and a gel is applied to the skin to allow better penetration of the sound waves. The doctor then moves the ultrasound probe over the skin, observing the image on a monitor.

Benefits of the Ultrasound Study

Ultrasound examinations allow rapid and accurate diagnosis of many conditions, enabling early treatment and improving prognosis. In addition, they are safe for the patient, with no side effects or allergic reactions. Ultrasound examinations are an indispensable tool in the diagnosis of many conditions, providing a quick and accurate assessment of the health of internal organs. Moreover, they are widely used and appreciated by doctors and patients.

In our clinic in Warsaw

we provide professional diagnostics and monitoring

Head and neck diseases

Neck ultrasound is performed to evaluate all organs of the neck, blood vessels and soft tissues. Ultrasound of this type is the basis of diagnosis – thyroid diseases, lymph node enlargement, the cause of pain, inflammation, swelling, thickening, tumors, cysts, palatine tonsils, salivary glands and many others. Neck ultrasound allows to diagnose conditions, assess the stage of the disease, and is a follow-up examination during the applied therapy to analyze its effects and improvement of the patient’s condition.

Thyroid

This type of examination allows diagnosing and analyzing the formed changes of the thyroid gland. Thyroid ultrasound detects and allows to assess the size of goiter, nodules or cysts. The doctor performing this examination is able to diagnose features of hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, inflammation, Hashimoto’s disease, Graves-Basedow disease, lymphomas and neoplastic lesions.

Breasts

This examination helps rule out suspicion or diagnose various types of lumps, cysts, the cause of breast soreness, mastopathy and thickening. Breast ultrasound is also performed to evaluate implants and as a follow-up examination after mammography. It is also used for follow-up examinations – breast ultrasound is used regularly for cancer prevention (it becomes an aid and supplement to breast self-examination).

Lymph nodes

This test can diagnose symptoms such as enlargement, soreness of cervical, axillary, inguinal and abdominal lymph nodes. Ultrasound of lymph nodes is also used to evaluate the lymphatic system in hematological and oncological diseases. It becomes a tool for either ruling out or diagnosing lymph node diseases and analyzing the severity of the resulting lesions.

General and internal medicine diseases

Abdominal cavity

Ultrasound examination allows to assess the condition of abdominal organs – liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile ducts, spleen, kidneys, adrenal glands, urinary bladder, blood vessels, abdominal aorta, retroperitoneal space. Abdominal ultrasound can diagnose, stage or exclude suspected diseases and lesions, such as aneurysms, inflammation, cancerous lesions, causes of pain. Abdominal ultrasound is also used in the course of treatment, either to analyze improvements in health or to react to a possible lack of treatment results.

Prostates

Prostate ultrasound is a transabdominal evaluation of the size and shape of the prostate gland. Using this test, it is possible, among other things, to diagnose and evaluate urine retention in the bladder as a result of prostate enlargement.

Soft tissues

Ultrasound examination makes it possible to exclude or recognize and evaluate the size and nature of thickenings, nodules, cysts, inflammation of soft tissues and lipomas. This allows you to implement appropriate treatment and analyze its effect.
