Hyperbaric chamber
Hyperbaric Chamber in Warsaw
In our Center we have a state-of-the-art, SINGLE – SAFE hyperbaric chamber (hyperbaric chamber Warsaw) that allows the use of pressure up to 3.2 ATA.
For the sake of the health of patients and our staff, additional safety measures have been implemented. Each patient entering our Center undergoes verification by the medical staff: they fill out an epidemiological questionnaire and their temperature is measured. The chamber, as well as the room, is ozonized and disinfected after each patient.
What does hyperbaric therapy consist of?
Hyperbaric therapy is a non-invasive method of treating diseases and ailments by breathing 100% oxygen administered under increased pressure. The therapy takes place in a special room – a hyperbaric chamber. Being in a hyperbaric chamber effectively saturates the tissues with oxygen. Oxygen penetrates red blood cells, its concentration also increases in the plasma, lymphatic system and cerebrospinal fluid.
Hyperbaric chamber (hyperbaric chamber Warsaw) and its impact on recovery
Thanks to the increased pressure, oxygen reaches places it has no chance to reach on a daily basis. The therapy stimulates dormant cells and restores their proper functioning. It improves tissue regeneration and accelerates wound healing. It also slows down the aging process, reduces inflammation and effectively treats bacterial infections, fibromyalgia, or Lyme disease. The treatment is painless – it involves inhaling therapeutic oxygen in a specially constructed hyperbaric chamber under the guidance of qualified personnel.
“Exposure to hyperbaric oxygen mobilizes stem cells for repair efforts. Being in a hyperbaric chamber stimulates the bone marrow to produce stem cells. With hyperbaric therapy, their number increases by as much as eight times. Breathing pure oxygen, the patient delivers 15 times more oxygen to the body than breathing normally.”

Treatments in a hyperbaric chamber
In order for treatments in a hyperbaric chamber to have the desired effect, they must be performed systematically. The amount of air pressure or oxygen used, the duration of therapy and the number of treatments are adjusted individually. The standard treatment lasts from 45 to 90 minutes, and is carried out once a day – the total number of treatments for individual patients ranges from 10 to 60 and depends on the diagnosed condition. The hyperbaric chamber makes it possible to achieve pressures above 1.5 ATA, so that the therapy has measurable effects.
Throughout the procedure, a paramedic is in the room, maintaining constant visual and audio contact with the patient, operating the control panel outside the chamber and supervising the proper course of the procedure. The paramedic communicates with the patient via intercom. The transparency of the enclosure reduces the sense of isolation and increases the safety of the person in the chamber. During the procedure, the patient can listen to his favorite music, watch TV or selected movies.
It is used by professional athletes, as well as those who practice less competitive sports. Treatments in the hyperbaric chamber guarantee faster regeneration after a hard, strenuous workout, reduce the oxygen deficit and allow a faster return to form after a possible injury. Thanks to the therapy, the amount of ATP molecules (the so-called muscle fuel) increases and the effect of muscle acidification disappears. In addition, metabolism improves and dehydration levels decrease.
A number of famous athletes, including golfer Tiger Woods, soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, swimmer Michael Phelps, tennis player Novak Djokovic, basketball player LeBron James, and MMA fighter Daniel Cormier, regularly benefit from hyperbaric chamber treatments.
