Diving medicine
Research for divers
Remember, when starting your adventure in this sport, to perform tests and receive the appropriate certificate from a sports medicine doctor. In our Center we offer examinations for divers, which allow you to identify possible contraindications to this sport. The number and type of examinations are based on the regulation of the Minister of Health.
- Chest X-ray
- Spirometry
- Resting ECG
- Basic blood tests ( CBC, ESR, glucose )
It’s a good idea to check the nasal septum before diving, because when we dive we have pressure differences that affect our body. A crooked septum, inflammation of the sinuses or other obstruction of the tubes connecting the sinuses to the nasal cavity, and lack of proper ventilation prevent the pressure from equalizing on its own. This can lead to barotrauma. If you are struggling with these problems be sure to visit an ENT specialist.
As part of the consultation, the patient will receive:
- qualification for recreational diving
- medical certificate allowing diving
- Certificate/recognition for participation in sports competitions in diving
- stamping the diver's book of diving qualifications
- qualification for diving as part of periodic examinations
- advice on diving in tropical countries
- pressure test
