Nose correction is one of the most commonly performed procedures in plastic surgery. Before the operation, the doctor analyzes the face on the basis of photographic documentation. He then works out the obtained material graphically both “by hand” and with the help of a computer, measuring the proportions of the face and the angles contained between the various morphological elements of the face. The goal of all these activities is to plan the surgical procedure so that the resulting shape is in harmony with the face as a whole. Based on the conclusions of the facial analysis, a computer simulation of the predicted shape can also be performed even before the rhinoplasty procedure.
Course of treatment
The procedure takes 2.5- 3 hours and is performed under general anesthesia. After the correction, the nose is covered with a dressing that secures its new shape. There is little pain in the nose after the operation. The biggest inconvenience for patients after the procedure is the inability to breathe through the nose due to swelling. After a week, the bracing comes off. For about 6 weeks, the skin remains sensitive and delicate, so it is recommended to protect it from harmful atmospheric phenomena. Scar healing takes from 6 months to a year. As for physical activity after the procedure, we recommend returning to light exercise at the earliest 6 weeks after the procedure.
