Complications after surgery ears
Any extensive surgical procedure can be followed by serious general complications: Pneumonia, venous congestion and thrombosis, stroke, systemic infection, myocardial infarction, respiratory failure and death.

Frequent but harmless
- frequent but harmless
- bobbin falling out
- Obstruction of the bobbin (obstruction by secretion), does not perform its function
- Injury and inflammation of the external auditory canal
- hematoma of the tympanic membrane or in the eardrum cavity
- inflammation of the middle ear
- After scheduled removal of the drain, the lack of a good treatment effect and the need to repeat the procedure
Rare, much more serious
- persistent perforation (hole) of the eardrum
- formation of a perloma in the eardrum cavity Case complications, i.e. single cases described in the literature
- Deterioration of hearing up to and including deafness
- facial nerve palsy
- prolapse of function or inflammation of the vagus, dizziness
- taste disorders

Consequences or complications after myringoplasty
Frequent but harmless
- hematoma of the operated area
- inflammation of the operated area
- Sensory disturbances in the operated area
- Injury and inflammation of the external auditory canal
- hematoma of the tympanic membrane or in the eardrum cavity
- inflammation of the middle ear
- Recurrence or persistent perforation of the tympanic membrane, necessitating reoperation
- abnormal positioning or healing of the graft and deterioration of hearing
- taste disorders
Rare, much more serious
- formation of a perloma in the eardrum cavity or retraction pocket, which requires a second procedure
- significant deterioration of hearing up to and including deafness
- facial nerve palsy
- vaginitis, dizziness
