Hearing tests
Pure-tone audiometry
evaluates the hearing threshold, so in the case of hearing loss are able to determine the nature and depth of hearing loss. This study tells us that the cause of hearing loss is located in the middle ear, inner or further parts of the auditory pathway. Such studies are necessary to comply with those exposed at work on the ear-damaging agents (noise, vibration, chemicals).
Impedance audiometry
The measurement of sensitivity of middle ear conductive circuit and pressure in the tympanic cavity. This reflex examination is preventive and screening test of hearing threshold. Specifies the location of the hearing of the middle ear, the inner ear and the auditory nerve. Impedance audiometry is an objective test (does not require the cooperation of the patient), non-invasive and lasting max. 2 minutes. It is recommended to those who have a problem with pressure equalization in an aircraft / dive, in order to determine the possible use of drugs.
Verbal audiometry
It’s a study to supplement tonal audiometry. It is performed to assess your hearing loss. It allows to assess the patient’s ability to understand speech at different levels of intensity. The examination is carried out separately for the left and right ears. During the examination, the patient is wearing audiometric headphones and the diagnosis gives the patient the right words. These are usually numbers or monosyllable words. The patient’s task is to repeat them immediately after hearing them. The examination takes about 1 hour.
Tympanometry
vulnerability assessment of the eardrum rating the presence of ipsilateraly reflex of stapedius. Indications: The differential diagnosis of hearing loss, conductive hearing loss, assessment of the middle ear, otitis media with effusion; eardrum injuries, invisible perforations, obstruction hearing trumpets, tinnitus, inflammation, acute and chronic middle ear, as a preliminary study for the interpretation of the issue otoacoustic-exclusion of sound conduction disturbances.
SISI attempt
Assessment of severity of the short growth rate (1 dB), performed at 1 kHz and for two selected frequencies where hearing loss is observed. Indications: The differential diagnosis of hearing impairment receiving location, confirm the location of the worm hearing, auditory sensitivity.
Decay test
Rating decay time of pure tone hearing for different levels above threshold, made at 1 kHz, and the second selected frequency observed in the hearing. Indications: location differential diagnosis of hearing impairment; suspected location of the receiving damage hearing, ringing in the ears.
Detrermination of threshold of hearing discomfort in pure tone audiometry
The term limit for hearing unpleasant tones 1, 2, 4 kHz. Indications: auditory hypersensitivity, tinnitus, selection and hearing aid settings.
